Interested in learning more about the Sepoy Rebellion? Make sure to watch Mangal Pandey: The Rising - all about the Indian hero of the 1857 uprising. Thanks to AP and her family for the recommendation. Here's the trailer below. The DVD is available at the Plainsboro library. Today is the anniversary of the Battle of Adwa (good catch SG in Per. 2). Here's the full second episode of the BBC's Racism: A History. We watched portions of the documentary in Honors World. "Scattered across the world are the sites of the massacres and genocides of imperialism - where millions died in an aspect of colonial history that Europe often chooses to forget." The episode features interviews with Mike Davis, who wrote the extraordinary book, Late Victorian Holocausts.
